In 2017 soon after the song’s release it quickly became a massive commercial success, reaching the top of the charts in several countries and earning numerous awards and accolades.

One of my favorite parts is the song’s catchy and infectious hook. Post Malone sings the repeated line, “I’ve been pretty bored lately, so I’ve been pretty on one.” The song’s lyrics explore themes of fame, wealth, and excess, as Post Malone and 21 Savage rap about their lavish lifestyles and experiences as rockstars.
Production of Rockstar
I prefer something else to the song’s original production, which has heavy, distorted guitar riffs which give the piece a rock-inspired sound. I did, however, enjoy the trap-influenced beat and 21 Savage’s signature aggressive flow.
Regardless, I saw the opportunity to flip the song upside down with a drum & bass inspired remix. Both Post’s singing and 21’s lyrics fit perfectly in the Jungle track I created.
